For developers

Blocks, shortcodes, REST and hooks.

Everything a member can do in the browser, a program can do over REST. Templates override into your theme, and the extension points are documented rather than reverse-engineered.

Authenticated, paginated, and the same data the UI uses

wpss/v1
# Every surface a member sees has a route behind it.GET /wp-json/wpss/v1/services?per_page=10&category=designGET /wp-json/wpss/v1/orders/{id}GET /wp-json/wpss/v1/orders/{id}/timeline # One round trip instead of ten, for an app opening cold.POST /wp-json/wpss/v1/batch { "requests": [ ... up to 25 ... ] }

Cookie or application password (POST /auth/login issues one). Permission callbacks answer 401 for a caller with no session and 403 for one who is signed in but not allowed, so a client can tell the difference.
