You want orders to close on schedule, and customers to hear from your brand. Here is where the order windows and emails are set, how to make an order by hand, and where the audit trail is. You need a site running the free WP Sell Services plugin. It takes about four minutes. There are six steps. Set the order windows. Set the order limits. Set the email rules. Create an order by hand. Refund or change an order. Read the audit log. Step one. Set the order windows. Open Settings, then Orders and Disputes. Auto-Complete Days closes a delivered order after that many days if the buyer says nothing. Allow Disputes and Dispute Window set whether buyers can open one, and for how long. Review Window sets how long a buyer has to leave a review. Save at the foot of the section. Step two. Set the order limits. In General, Minimum Order Amount and Maximum Order Amount keep every order between two prices. In Orders and Disputes, Max Extension Days and Buyer Request Expiry set how long extra time and open requests can run. Vendor Settings caps Max Portfolio Items. System sets Audit Log Retention, in days. Step three. Set the email rules. Open Emails. Message Email Delivery decides when message emails go out. Skip when they are already here holds an email back when the person is online on your site. Step four. Create an order by hand. Open Orders. Every order is listed, with filters for Awaiting payment, Active and Completed. Create Order makes an order for a client who already agreed to work with you. It is not clicked here. Step five. Refund or change an order. Open an order from Orders. Update Order lets you change its status. For a refund, enter a Refund amount, and click Process Refund. A smaller amount is a partial refund. It is not clicked here. Step six. Read the audit log. Audit Log records who did what, with When, Who, What happened and On. Forced only narrows it to actions the owner forced. Filter and Reset change the view. That is all six. The order windows and limits set, the email rules set, an order created by hand, an order refunded or changed, and the audit log read. Orders and emails, your way. Next in this series: Build marketplace pages with blocks and shortcodes.
